“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-2:

AMEN, God bless
Interesting, I’m 74 unhappy and not able to share with people as I barely make $14000.00 a yr I feel useless and after all the yrs I’ve worked I feel empty. I just finally opened your devotion today and it was nice, with fear of death and lack of offering or unable to help with all who give word I’m empty. Pray for me I’ll have to owe you.
You are not useless! Everyone is use full to God AND to the people we see every day. A smile, a greeting of good morning or a complement on an article of clothing can make someone’s day.
I have wealthy friends -big houses, new cars, etc. I would not change places with them. They are not happy, complain about everything, and their wealth has not prevented them from suffering serious health problems.
Knowing God loves us, and that this life is not the end of our story gives me a feeling of peace and gratitude. I pray you will feel that same peace.
Hey, Mr. Beverly Chenier, I hear you loud and clear, but God hear you even better and by his spirit he wishes for none to suffer but to be graceful in his son who has paid the price for us all. The only reason I am happy is because I got Jesus Christ inside me and I know that makes all the difference whether we are rich or poor. But it is always better to be rich in spirit inside that is the key to our happiness. Mr. Chenier I am 65 and learning and I know through all my experiences I could not have done one thing if God had not been on my side by prayers of the righteous before I was saved and it continues on and on. So my brother keep your head up and seek Jesus Christ, Lord and Saviour he has your happiness and favor. When you go through Jesus is standing in the gap for you before the Father and it is as real as I have written these words on this comment back to you. Love you my brother, Keep Jesus Christ as your answer and call upon him he will not disappoint. Matthew 11:28.
I am praying for you today Beverly. Praying GOD will take you by the hand and comfort you. You are a child of GOD if you have received him as your personal savior. All we have to do is confess your sin to GOD. JESUS is our Lord. He is the only one that can get us through struggles and obstacles in our lives.
I am sorry you feel that way. But Jesus loves you just as you are, in him is all hope and all joy. Call on the Lord, he will come to you. Believe in him, accept him as Lord and Savior, you will be spared an eternity in hell. But you will receive an eternity in Heaven and be always with the Lord. I pray you open your heart to the Lord, and give him a chance to help you. He will if you ask. Open up your Bible to Matthew, Mark , Luke and John, these are all accounts of what each of them saw about our Lord, you will learn what you need to to get to know our Lord. I pray that God will send you his oil of gladness, and that you will give him a chance to be your Lord and Savior in Jesus name. Amen!
I’m not sure what to say but loneliness is hard, e specially when you get old.
I’m not sure what to say but loneliness is hard, e specially when you get old. Not sure what or how to reply I left a comment. I’m not trying to reply to my self looking of some real reply from a real person to help. Yes God is the only real one just seem to fear it all
I am not worthy, even to be compared to the dirt on HIS sandals. But, I do trust that the promise HE gave to us in the Biblical text is so true and HE is praised from my family. And I worship HIM and thank HIM for every breath. “But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.”
Matthew 5:37 KJV
I agree, we are all sinners. While I cannot cite chapter and verse, I vividly recall (I thnk Solomon) reading a summation that “Life is folly” We have sins from much earlier in life that we wished we could rescind, but we cannot. We can only pray for forgiveness and accept the belief that Jesus died for our sins, past and present. I cling to that truth! I can also relate to Beverly’s statement as I am 79 and live alone and there are periods of loneliness, especially in the dark of night. I have a family that loves me, I also have JESUS who loves all of us! I remain humble and pray that my sins are forgiven. Yet I still feel the loneliness, in the stillness of the night, but I cope with it because I know that someday soon I will know the answers to all my beliefs/questions.
I trust in Jesus that through His Father and the Holy Ghost, he has set a purpose to my life. “Deliver us from evil” and bring more peace and health to this World, dear Lord?
